Event Overview
STUPID CO returns with the sixth edition of STUPID CHATS, a monthly roundtable dedicated to demystifying film distribution and today’s independent film landscape.
Taking place March 10, this virtual discussion brings together filmmakers and industry professionals for an open conversation about making and releasing a first feature film. The session is designed for emerging filmmakers navigating independent production, self-distribution, DIY filmmaking, and the realities of bringing a debut feature to audiences.
The conversation will feature film distributor Kyle Greenberg alongside filmmakers Anna Maguire and Christina Campagnola, who both recently completed their first feature films. Together they’ll share firsthand insights into the creative and practical challenges of moving from shorts or smaller projects into a feature-length production.
What the Conversation Covers
The roundtable will explore key stages of building a first feature, including:
- Developing and writing a feature-length project
- Financing and producing a debut feature film
- Navigating post-production
- Understanding today’s film distribution landscape
- Strategies for self-distribution and DIY releases
The goal of STUPID CHATS is to create a transparent, community-driven conversation between distributors and independent filmmakers—opening up the process and offering practical insight for those preparing to make their first feature.
