At their 2026 NABShow booth, MID49 showcased a number of exciting new camera accessories just recently made available for purchase. Their wide range of products prioritize efficiency, versatility, and compatibility, and are largely marketed toward independent filmmakers.
Demonstrating the equipment's usage was Ryan Schorman, co-founder of the nonprofit video site GratiFILM. Schorman explained:
"Our products are meant for the indie crowd that has a camera that wants to shoot their own production. Vertical content is all the rage. We made an L bracket that's made out of steel, so you can attach any camera—even super heavy ones—that need to be shot 9x16 style."
Headlining MID49's exhibition were their latest TWIST and SWAP accessory mounting kits, designed to make camera attachments more efficient and universal. The kits are now available on their website and with other resellers.
Micro Rosette TWIST Mount Kit
This kit can be used to connect transmitters and other accessories to the user's camera. The friction base provides a secure and collapsible attachment system.
The modular design of the TWIST kit allows for flexible and efficient modifications, while also taking into account size and weight. The rosettes streamline rapid adjustments such as a change in extension length or angle.
The kit contains 12.5mm, 25mm, 50mm, 75mm, and 100mm extension lengths, and is also available in a spud size of 1/4-20 to 1/4-20, or customizable with the companion "Build Your Own!" version. The angle can be adjusted anywhere from 22.5 to 45 degrees.
Micro Rosette Monitor TWIST Hinge Kit
MID49 also manufactures TWIST kits specifically for attaching monitors. The hinge kit can be used to build monitor arms that pan and tilt, and the Micro Rosette to TWIST Spud Screw allows the arm to fold flat as well, maximizing the equipment's compactness.
The right-angle adapter, which is included in all of the kits, allows the Micro Rosette arm or clamp to attach to any 15mm rod. This kit is also available with 1/4-20 to 1/4-20 spuds.
Micro Rosette SWAP Bolt Kit
While functionally identically to the TWIST kits, the SWAP version hard-mounts the Micro-Rosettes to the accessories and camera. This alternative to the quick-release TWIST system mainly utilizes removable 3mm locating pins and replaceable bolts.
