Apply for Script Pipeline's 2026 First Look Project

Program Overview

The 15th Annual First Look Project is now open, inviting screenwriters and TV writers to submit higher-concept feature screenplays and TV pilots across six categories. Unlike Script Pipeline's Screenwriting and TV Writing contests, which judge almost exclusively on writing ability, First Look weighs writing, concept, and market potential together — meaning a script that's still a bit rough can still win if the idea itself is fresh and stands out in the current market.

Categories include:

• Screenplay: Action & Sci-Fi, Comedy, Drama, Horror & Thriller
• TV Pilot: Hour and Half-Hour original pilots

Awards

• Screenplay Winners (4 total): $10,000 total — $2,500 to the winner of each genre category
• TV Pilot Winners (2 total): $5,000 total — $2,500 to the winner of each category

All six winners receive:

• Long-term circulation to Script Pipeline's network of producers, managers, agents, directors, and others seeking TV material
• 1-on-1 development assistance from Script Pipeline's execs
• Additional script reviews and consideration of other material
• Career guidance and mentorship from Pipeline execs and industry partners
• Exclusive invitations to private events hosted by Symposium

How to Apply

Eligibility notes: scripts must not be under an option or shopping agreement at time of entry; the same script can't compete in multiple categories; genre hybrids may be submitted to whichever category the writer chooses.
